Pollution's toll
Article Abstract:
Pollution is a greater danger to fisheries than overfishing. Other man-made causes of fisheries' destruction are change in water courses, construction of dams, and the demolition of wetlands in coastal areas. The development of fish farms as a secondary source of fish is desirable. They have the added potential of being pollution-free, and the quality of fish food can be closely monitored. Moreover, fish farms will help meet the immense demand for fish and provide time for natural fish stocks to re-develop.
