Pop goes the industry
Article Abstract:
According to the figures by the Australian Record Industry Association, the demand for the recorded music on CD has fallen 4.75% compared with 2003 and the retailers requested 2.4 million fewer music CD's from local record company warehouses in 2004, depriving the industry of $30m in income. The broadband is quickly approaching mass penetration in Australia and the high speed Internet is likely to be a low-cost efficient way to deliver music.
