Quebec-led group winds bidding war for Highway 407

Article Abstract:

A consortium headed by Quebec companies has won the bidding for Ontario's electronic toll road Highway 407. The group will pay the Ontario government around C$3 billion, double the province's total investment of C$1.52 billion as of the end of FY97-98. The consortium is composed of SNC-Lavalin Group Inc of Quebec, the Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec, Bank of Montreal and the Spanish construction company Grupo Ferrovial.
