The Canadian Coast Guard intends to salvage the Irving Whale, which sank in Sep 1970, and relocate the vessel to Halifax, Nova Scotia, but critics charge that the relocation effort is a threat to public health. The Irving Whale is leaking not only oil, but also polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs).
