Article Abstract:
Ford Motor Co announced on Oct 17, 2000 that it was voluntarily recalling over 351,000 of the 2000 model year Focus subcompact cars with at least one of three suspected defects. According to the automaker, it has received 15 reports that rear wheel and brake drum assemblies separate when the hub-retaining nut became loose. Also, Ford will inspect cruise control cables because of 12 reports of accelerators that stick when pressed to the floor. There have been no accidents reported linking any of of the problems mentioned.

Curtain falls on Plymouth
Article Abstract:
DaimlerChrysler AG has decided to stop producing its 71-year-old Plymouth brand. Company President James Holden said the decision is an emotional one as the brand will forever be a significant part of the company's heritage. The company finally decided to end the Plymouth brand because it is an unpopular brand in the US and because it is unfit for a worldwide auto industry.
