Should gasoline tax revenue be used to support Amtrak?
Article Abstract:
Questions concerning the gasoline tax revenue support of Amtrak are debated. Though Amtrak serves 55 million passengers a year with connections between 68 major cities, and has received $19 billion in federal funding since 1971, it remains in financial crisis. Advocates of gasoline tax support believe that the additional revenue will allow Amtrak to improve its cost-effectiveness. Those opposed to the tax revenue funding fear the money will be wasted and suggest state funding of the railway service.

Should all women in their 40s get mammograms?
Article Abstract:
Disagreement exists on whether mammograms should be given to all women starting at age 40. Supporters note that, of all diseases, breast cancer is the biggest killer of women in that decade of life. Critics note that mammograms are an inadequate response to the problem, and that women in their 50s have a greater need for mammograms.
