Starbucks sees fertile grounds in inner cities
Article Abstract:
Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz and his partner, basketball star Earvin "Magic" Johnson, are set to announce plans to open Starbucks coffee shops in under-served black neighborhoods. After the two just finished jointly opening the first inner city Starbucks a few miles away from the LA International Airport, they could help other businesses see if there is much of profit to be made in African-American communities. The Starbucks partnership is set to open six additional central-city branches in Atlanta, GA, Seattle, WA, and Southern California in the next three months.
