N.Y. Stock Exchange to extend hours
Article Abstract:
The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the world's biggest exchange, will have extended trading hours as early as Jul 1999. NYSE chairman Richard Grasso said the move should make the exchange in step with rival Nasdaq Stock Market, which is considering a similar move. Extended trading hours are also expected to benefit individual investors. Some experts, however, warn that thin trading during the extended hours could be used by unscrupulous parties to manipulate prices.
