Reporters were banned from immediate reporting during the 1993 murder trial of Karla Homolka. In the 1995 trial of her ex-husband Paul Bernardo, crucial videos of the alleged murders are prime evidence. If the tapes had been released in 1993, the impact on the 1995 jury may have been prejudicial.
