Take an interest in your savings

Article Abstract:

Canadians are advised to take advantage of the availability of high- interest savings accounts that are being offered by a number of small Canadian financial institution. These institutions, which include President's Choice Financial, American Express Co and ING Direct, are willing to pay 4.25% interest on their savings accounts. Figures from the Bank of Canada indicate that there are C$40 billion in savings accounts and and another C$57.5 billion in checking accounts that are earning an average of only 0.46% per annum.
