Congress and Clinton administration officials are reviewing the U.S. energy policy. They are considering doing more to assist U.S. oil producers increase domestic output and ensure oil supplies during the oil glut. At the same time they must consider environmentalists's claims that the country must reduce their reliance on oil. They site government waste alone costing U.S. taxpayers about $1 billion a year.
