The Da Vinci Code, a novel about a Harvard symbology professor, embroiled in a murder mystery, is a combination of thriller, religious manifests and art-history lecture. Columbia Pictures release a movie based on the novel in May 2006,starring Tom Hanks, and its director Ron Howard says that there is no softening of the story's controversial elements and their liking for the book inspired them to make a movie.
