Wiring schools and providing students with computers and computer instruction are expensive ventures, but the trend is likely to continue. The educational value of this is uncertain, and the loss of instruction in the arts and other areas is having a negative effect on education.

The rancher subsidy

Government subsidies for the ranching community is increasing the deterioration of this industry. The subsidies indirectly contribute to the environmental degradation of public and private lands which threatens long term survival.
