A resolution to the conflict over the Lester B Pearson International Airport appears to be near. The Greater Toronto Airports Authority agreed to buy Terminal 3 from the Pearson Development Corp for $719 mil. This could facilitate a settlement of the breach-of-contract suit filed by Pearson.

A civic face-lift

The city of Halifax is undergoing a vigorous remodeling and construction spree in preparation for the Group of 7 summit in mid-June, 1995. The cost of hosting the summit is believed to be approximately $28 million, which is more than 40% less than the 1994 summit's total cost.
