Canada's children's book industry is flourishing at every level in the mid-1990s. Canadian authors, illustrators, and publishers are finding that their offerings are in great demand on the world market. However, Canadian publishers fear that federal and provincial budget cuts will reduce domestic demand.

'Bob's Birthday' a 12-minute animated film created by Alison Snowden and David Fine, won an 1995 Academy Award. The film was partially financed and produced by the NFL. NFL is struggling to stay vital after the Canadian government cut funding by 5% for 1995-96.
