Villeneuve's participation in the Canadian Grand Prix is making the race one of the biggest sporting events in Quebec. Villeneuve is not only a native of Ontario, the location of the race, but he will race on a track named after his father, driver Gilles Villeneuve, who died during a 1982 practice.
