Yacht builder makes return voyage

Turner Yachts Ltd of St Catharines, Ontario, got a full order book after the company participated at the US Sailboat Show in Annapolis, MD, in Oct 1998. The company showcased its first and only product, the C$500,000, 45-foot sailboat Turner 45, at the event and was nominated for the Boat of the Year award by the magazines Sailing World and Cruising World. The company is owned by former C and C Yachts vice president Rob Turner.

Ski school lifts intrawest

Intrawest Corp. of Vancouver is one of the major players in North America's increasingly consolidated ski resort industry. The company owns the Whistler/Blackcomb Ski and Snowboard School which was formed in 1997 after Intrawest acquired its rival Whistler Mountain. The school has 1,200 employees and is projecting a revenue of C$13.5 million in 1999. Intrawest Corp. posted total revenue of C$598 million in 1998.

CroMedica hits nerve in clinical trials

CroMedica Global Inc, a full-service, global contract-research organization, focuses on conducting human clinical trials for major pharmaceutical companies. The firm owns facilities in five countries and is on track of targeting a revenue of C$20 million in 1999.
