Two bidders said to be left for Aetna's canadian life insurance unit

Two bidders have remained in US insurance and health provider Aetna Inc's planned sale of its Canadian subsidiary, Aetna Life Insurance Company of Canada. American International Group Inc has backed off from the bidding war, leaving Manufacturers Life Insurance Co of Toronto and Maritime Life Assurance Co of Halifax as rivals in buying the company. Aetna Life has an estimated book value of C$230 million and assets of C$2.6 billion.
