The founder, controlling shareholder and chief executive officer of Lab International Inc, does not let mangers of his contract research and drug development company sit on the board of directors including him. Bill Mackenzie, president of Fairvest Corp. reported that, they always promote boards to have in-camera meetings without management present because, if required, they can invite management to address the meeting.

KPMG Canada shuns global partner
Article Abstract:
KPMG Canada has announced that it is planning to merge with Arthur Andersen Canada to form an accounting and consulting firm with an annual revenue of C$900 million and more than 6,000 workers. The new firm, which will operate under the Arthur Andersen name, will be headed by KPMG Canada's chmn and CEO Spencer Lanthier. KPMG Canada also said that it has severed ties with its worldwide partner, KPMG International.
