LaGuardia saw 61,000 delays last year
Article Abstract:
LaGuardia Airport in New York amassed delays in 2000 at a pace that far exceeded anything ever logged at a major US airport. Hundreds of new flights clogged the airport after the government eased a cap on operations there. Over 61,000 flights were delayed at least 15 minutes which translate to 15.6% of all its flights. The airport has traditionally been among the most congested airports due to limited space and the presence of only two runways.
