TLC the laser center looks south

Toronto-based TLC The Laser Center Inc. is expected to post a profit of around C$7 mil in the FY99 ending May 31, 1999, from a loss of C$9.5 million in FY98. The company is projected to further improve its profits as revenues grow with the signing up major of corporations and health management organizations in the US, and acquisition of more laser vision correction clinics. TLC is projected to post profits of C$20.9 million in in FY 2000 and $45.1 million in FY2001.

Bird flu challenges the world's vaccine makers
Article Abstract:
Health officials fear that the bird flu virus wreaking havoc across Asia may turn into a pandemic killer and there is a good chance that regular influenza vaccine will be in short supply when the flu season begins and that flu shots will be delayed at best. World's vaccine producers would make pandemic vaccine their priority for striking a delicate balance between the demands of traditional customers and a possible upheaval in their business plans.
