Article Abstract:

The gruesome bombing of the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad was a result of violence against Americans and their partners. The United Nations, having developed skills and expertise in nation building, should be given formal authority by the United States government to reconstruct Iraq and appoint Iraqis at key ministry positions, thus making them a part of the economic and political transformations.

Don't open a credibility gap

Article Abstract:

The United States must stand firm and follow through with its plan to attack Iraq and unseat Saddam Hussein or risk losing its credibility with the other nations and leaders of the world. The actions taken by the US in Iraq are being closely watched by another potentially dangerous country, North Korea, and US actions against Iraq could affect what it does as well.

Don't blame the Saudis

Article Abstract:

Oil prices have gone up to $43 a barrel in 2004, a twenty-year high causing the consumer price index to rise 4.9 percent versus 1.9 percent in 2003. The irony of Bush administration waging with Iraq to reduce dependency for oil and rise in the oil prices is discussed.
