When child abuse kills
Article Abstract:
Experts such as Georgetown University neurology professor Jonathan Pincus, and Aaron Beck, professor emeritus of the University of Pennsylvania, believe that the tendency towards violence is frequently the result of prolonged physical and sexual abuse by parents on children. Research has shown that these traumatic experiences, and the neurological damage caused by the abuse, have more effect on violent behavior than does broad genetic inheritance.
