Woods' latest trophy: $100 million Nike deal

Nike Inc is expected to sign Tiger Woods in a five-year contract extension valued at about $100 million. The transaction with the No 1 golfer is believed to be the richest endorsement deal in the history of sports. Woods' old contract, worth $40 million, expires in 2001. His new contract will bind him to play the Nike Precision Tour Accuracy Ball which he has been using since the Deutsche Bank Open tournament without a contract. The extension contract includes everything except the clubs and the bag.

Ford F-150 gets highest NHTSA crash rating

Ford Motor Co's F-150 four-door, 4x2 truck has received the highest score in front crash-test ratings released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on Jun 21, 2001. NHTSA gave the Ford truck a 'five' rating for driver and passenger front-crash ratings. The NHTSA results came a month after the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety said the F-150 was the worst among trucks in front-crash safety based on its test.

Ford bankrolls Fox series based on truck TV ads

Ford Motor Co will sponsor an adventure sports TV series, called 'No Boundaries,' on the Fox network. The series is an offshoot of the automaker's 'No Boundaries' ad campaign for its trucks. The program will feature the 'Ford Explorer Sport Trac Challenge,' a competition that combines rock climbing, mountain biking, snowboarding and kayaking.
