The demand for car parks is increasing as the new government law restricting the number of car parks where buying a car park is considered to be secure, steady and long-term capital appreciation. Car park as an investment option has few problems like difficulties in securing finance, small capital gains and inexperienced operators but the benefits are too many compared to the problems.

A financial literacy survey of 1200 people undertaken by the Institute of Chartered Accountants found that though only 18% of Australians knew the difference between a franked and unfranked dividend, 60% considered themselves financially literate.
