Are you a party to a personality conflict?
Article Abstract:
Because personality conflicts between employees and supervisors can adversely affect performance and productivity, supervisors should learn how to handle these problems. Supervisors experiencing a personality conflict with an employee should: assess themselves from the standpoint of the employee, interact with the employee only when work situations require such interaction, emphasize the employee's positive conduct when talking with the employee, become more formal when interacting with the employee, keep communication lines open, administer employee rules and work assignments fairly and equally among all employees, and talk to the conflicting employee about the problem in a mature way. If all else fails and the performance of the employee warrants such action, the supervisor should discipline the employee with whom the conflict exists.
