The Superannuation Guarantee Charge will not provide Australians with enough money to retire, but it can provide a foundation for retirement. There are two things to considering when deciding how much money you will need to save each year for retirement. The calculation includes the expected retirement date and the amount of money needed to live on.

Australians are deserting private health insurance because of idiosyncracies that leave them with out-of-pocket expenses. Between March 1987 and 1998 the numbers of Australians with private health insurance dropped from 48.8 to 31.1 percent even with Government supported rebates. Medicare, private and self-fund insurance costs are examined.

No cure in sight for Australia's health system
Article Abstract:
Australia's health care system meets comparable standards in terms of quality care, access to services and doctors, however the financial structure of the system needs addressing. The cost are expected to rise. The problem will escalate as politicians continue to patch the system without addressing long-term issues.
