A writer discusses his experience in joining the annual Manhattan Island Marathon swim in New York City, NY. The event, which covers 26.2 miles of waterways, became an opportunity for the writer to witness some of New York City, NY's famous human-made scenery such as the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. Despite encountering numerous challenges, the writer was able to finish the marathon swim after seven and a half hours.
