Australian property trusts, with a 10% return predicted, will be the most difficult asset class to beat over the next 12 months. Listed property was up 17.9% in the year ending 12/00, with other asset classes considerably less rewarding. Projected returns for various market sectors come from van Eyk Research, which predicts the best returns among the sectors will be from listed property trusts over the 3-year and 5-year periods, offices trusts to be the most rewarding.
