A survey of readers of Modern Maturity revealed that most of these people have access to computers and use the Internet, but that only about one fourth of them purchase items through the Internet. Various reasons for using the computer include keeping in touch with friends and family via e-mail, getting up-to-date news information on the Internet, and using it for personal finance recording.

Results of a survey that examined musical preferences show that 75% of people listened to music for at least one hour each day and that the top categories of music listened to are classical, show tunes and country music. Music provided comfort to many people, and it was influential in their lives.

Most of the Modern Maturity readers who responded to a questionnaire about politics had a harsh view of politicians and 46% were generally pessimistic about leadership and the direction the country. Eighty-six percent consider themselves politically aware and 96% said they vote regularly.
