Playing chicken with Alan
Article Abstract:
Alan Greenspan raised Federal Funds interest rates as he hoped to cool the economy that seems to be hot. When he raised rates 0.25 per cent to 5 per cent, Treasury bills rose in prices and their yield fell 0.06 per cent to 4.79 per cent. The long term odds are distinctly against the market when it is played with a renowned inflation buster such as Alan Greenspan.
