The Real Estate Institute of Western Australia chief executive, Anne Arnold, revealed that the population growth, a skill in the mining industry and a resurgence of first home buyers would be the drivers of forecast growth of 5-8% for residential property in Perth over the year 2005. On the commercial front, he notes mining companies are driving a strong recovery in West Perth after Perth had the highest CBD office vacancy rate last year.
