In Australia, superannuation trustees decide who is entitled to the fund in the event of premature death of the employee. Thus the trustees are in a position to override the wishes based on the non-binding death nominations. With choices available in funds, it becomes necessary to verify and evaluate this aspect in the clauses of the pension funds.
