A crop of new investment products is offering investors the chance to make big money while shielding them from the possibility of large losses. Following the popularity of capital protected loans, which put a floor under the loss one makes on borrowed money, fund managers are increasingly incorporating the same loss-limiting features into investment, especially those made into riskier markets.
