End-use technology review
Article Abstract:
The use of electric infrared emitters in pre-drying chemically treated fabrics has been limited due to the preference for gas infrared pre-dryers. Electric dryers are considered by the textile industry to be more expensive and small-scale. However, a comparative in-plant study conducted by Duke Power and American Fast Print reveals that electric infrared pre-dryers are more energy efficient and offer more controllability.
