Hydrological models are necessary because hydrological data is inadequate. However, care must be taken in interpreting models: limitations should be understood and physical properties must be considered. Improper interpretation can increase flood risk. Various types of hydrological models are discussed, including the Australian runoff routing model RORB.

Balloons on parade
Article Abstract:
The gigantic helium-filled balloons used in parades are constructed from 30 to 40 separate pieces of fabric. Designers use three-foot clay models to make pattern pieces. Fifty handling lines help volunteers to control the balloons during the parade.

Tests were conducted to compare the performance of Honda Accord and Ford Explorer's antilock braking systems in various driving conditions. The surfaces that were examined include packed snow, asphalt, split-traction and glare ice.
