The grass is always greener
Article Abstract:
Botswana's Okavango swamp, the largest inland delta on Earth, is the object of a water rights battle. The delta presently provides little water to Botswana or neighboring South Africa, but officials of both countries have plans to dredge part of the delta in order to provide water for urbanites and for a large diamond mine. Okavango's wildlife is endangered by the dredging project, as well as by a huge steel fence erected to separate wild buffalo from commercial beef cattle.
