Tourism, poaching and wildlife conservation: what can integrated conservation and development projects accomplish?
Article Abstract:
The integrated conservation and development projects are devised to promote conservation of wildlife and improve the welfare of the local people in Africa. By conserving wildlife, these regions can improve their tourism revenues, apart from achieving sustainability in hunting. However, transferring money to the local people, as envisaged in some of these projects neither promotes conservation of wild life nor results in welfare of the local people. A study to that effect is presented.

Lending terms, debt concessions and developing countries' resource extraction
Article Abstract:
Many developing countries have high and unsustainable rates of extraction for their biological and mineral resources. The serious debt problems faced by developing countries partly explain their high natural resource extraction rates. The relationship between resource extraction and external debt in developing countries is investigated. Moreover, the influence that an outside force exerts on the natural resource extraction rate is examined.
