Proteome analysis reveals a distinct molecular profile of cellular stress following incubation of DDT(sub 1)-MF2 smooth muscles cells in the presence of a high concentration of hyperforin

Article Abstract:

Hyperforin is an important constituent of St. John's wort extracts, Hypericum perforatum L., and contributes to this herbal medicine's antidepressant action. Results of a proteome analysis demonstrated that hyperforin induces characteristic modifications of protein expression in DDT(sub 1)-MF2 cells that are similar to a stress-specific molecular profile.

A diterpenoid from Salvia cinnabarina inhibits mouse intestinal motility in vivo

Article Abstract:

A new diterpenoid was isolated from the leaf exudates of aerial parts of Salvia cinnabarina that exhibited in vitro non-specific intestinal spasmolytic activity. The effects of the compound were studied on the upper gastrointestinal transit in mice in vivo.
