MacIntyre's position on business: a response to Wicks
Article Abstract:
There is strong interest among those who study business ethics in the views of Alasdair MacIntyre, even though he has only written two short articles directly addressing this issue. Interest in MacIntyre seems to be mainly fuelled by interest in virtue ethics, especially in the applicability of virtues to business. MacIntyre is regarded as a key figure in the field of virtue ethics. It would be most appropriate to see him as being opposed to modernity, as he believes that it is modernity that has corrupted business.

Defending the stockholder model: a comment on Hasnas and Dunfee's MOM
Article Abstract:
Views of John Hasnas and W Thomas Dunfree presented in their respective articles entitled 'The Normative Theories of Business Ethics: A Guide for the Perplexed' and 'The Marketplace of Morality: Small Steps Toward a Theory of Moral Choice' are synthesized. Both writers are correct in their contention that the financial-economic view of the a firm is a view that can facilitate ethics. In addition, it is true that the ethic of the stockholder model is using economic might to do what is morally right.

Toward the feminine firm; an extension to Thomas White
Article Abstract:
A relationship-based value system is complementary to the nature of business, is beneficial to those who have a stake in that business, and is inherent in feminine-oriented virtue-ethics. Thomas White's theory of a male bias in business theory can be corrected by a more efficient feminine orientation that involves the economic benefits derived from trust.
