Paradigms linked: a normative-empirical dialogue about business ethics
Article Abstract:
Normative philosophy and empirical social sciences are two academic paradigms in business ethics research that are linked with each other. Their linkage can be deduced from existing research which is divided into two categories. These are normative efforts in identifying the normative foundations in empirical theories and research and the empirical efforts in ascertaining the factual status of normative assumptions. The normative-empirical dialogue is mainly applied in macro-level practical issues in business.

Toward a new understanding of moral pluralism
Article Abstract:
Modern textbooks on business ethics advocate the application of moral pluralism to a situation involving ethical problems. However, these textbooks do not address the problem inherent to this approach and are not clear on the application of conflicting ethical theories on concrete morally problematic situations confronting businesses and organizations. An alternative method based on classical American pragmatism is proposed.
