Why ethics matters: a defense of ethics in business organizations
Article Abstract:
Plato's view that acting in a just manner is more profitable and more logical than being unjust is correct. Investigations on the Prisoner's Dilemma and social dilemmas demonstrate that just behavior results in more profits than unethical behavior when viewed in terms of both the punishments for unethical behavior when interactions with stockholders are iterated, and the rewards of ethical behavior. Also, psychological studies on justice reveal that justice is considered to be intrinsically important and vital for business enterprises.

International business ethics: the aluminum companies in Jamaica
Article Abstract:
An adequate theory of international business ethics requires the combination of moral rights, justice, and a utilitarian-based model of the market. The ethical issues raised by the activities of aluminum companies in Jamaica reveal the weaknesses of the principles that have been proposed by Thomas Donaldson, Gerald Elfstrom, and Richard De George. Human rights and utilitarianism provide narrow and ambiguous standards for judging the behavior of international corporations. Microeconomic theory must also be considered.
