Business ethics and politics in China

Article Abstract:

Business ethics in China is beset with political issues that concern Western countries, particularly the US. The issues that are raised against China include human rights, prison labor, corrupt officials, intellectual property and unfair labor practices. Although China has a rich and diverse ethical heritage, its Western counterparts believe that it cannot solve its moral and political problems. However, China resents a Western solution to these problems. An ethical analysis based on US-China relationship is presented.

The role of character in business ethics

Article Abstract:

A virtue-based approach to the study and teaching of business ethics is recommended. This is because understanding how moral people behave and how they become moral requires reference to virtues which are important to business. This approach enables the study of the relationship between moral assessment and psychological explanation and can help individuals develop self-awareness of character and virtues.
