Quo vadis: Society for Business Ethics
Article Abstract:
The president of the Society for Business Ethics (SBE), Leo V. Ryan, feels that the SBE is making a transition from the stage of growth to a more mature stage which may call for re-examination of the organization's objectives. The SBE once had a monopoly as the only academic professional society focusing on business ethics, but now the field is burgeoning with organizations. The SBE may utilize its 15 years of experience of the field either by expanding its initial objectives or by focusing on selective issues.

Can American egalitarianism survive a globalized economy?
Article Abstract:
A pessimistic view on the globalization of business that is aided by information technology is presented. To the disadvantage of white people, this view suggests that the combination of high technology and free market will provide economic opportunity worldwide without regard for race. Further, the globalization of labor market will put an end to the lifestyle enjoyed by the rich, lazy and overpaid democratic western countries, particularly the US.
