Regulating virtue: formulating, engendering and enforcing corporate ethical codes
Article Abstract:
Codes of ethics are the most popular means of introducing and inculcating ethics into organizational life. They are very adaptable, can be used in all types of regulatory environments and are often the first formal structure to be established when raising the ethical profile of an organization. To be effective, a code must address real issues and not simply be a means of social control. It must use trust and persuasion rather than coercion and deterrence and must apply to all members of the organization.

Perceptions of ethical behavior in the use of computerized information
Article Abstract:
Ethical views on the use of computerized information were studied based on the aspects of privacy, reliability, ownership and accessibility. Respondents believe that the unauthorized sale of information is more unethical than the use of it. People are more likely to forgive actions that result into something they believe in. Therefore, ethical views are varied and ethics guidelines must be based on a compromise among these different beliefs.

The privacy paradox: e-commerce and personal information on the internet
Article Abstract:
The extent to which e-commerce makes use of personal information to conduct business without overly infringing the privacy of its customers is discussed. There is a paradox underlying the problem that people voluntarily indulge in e-commerce, which by its very nature involves the divulgence of personal information, and then object to their privacy being violated.
