Simulation and interpersonal utility

Article Abstract:

The simulation heuristic from cognitive science provides evidence to support the validity of the interpersonal utility comparisons that play an essential role in certain ethical theories. The cognitive science approach of experientialism is preferable to functionalism both in terms of overall adequacy and in accounting for judgments of interpersonal utility. The simulation heuristic suggests that the same mental mechanisms that operate on one's own mental states can be used to simulate the mental states of another. Moreover, such a process of simulation could be reliable in generating knowledge of interpersonal utility.

Moving on

Article Abstract:

The Czech Republic has become an important location, in Central Europe, for the distribution industry due to its low rents. More than 50% of European distribution sites are located in The Netherlands. Most goods are transported by roads, with fewer than 5% of distributors looking for sites in continental Europe with good access to railways. It is predicated the European distribution market is likely to change, with an increasing demand for sites from investors and tenants, due to Monetary Union and growth in the European economies.
