Designers of amusement with prizes machines (AWPs) have been researching why people in the UK do or do not use machines, which has led to a new range of machines to help the leisure industry compete with the National Lottery. Leisure centres are increasingly using AWPs to attract customers to other services, such as the bar. Leisure centre operators do not need to invest heavily in AWPs, and they stand to make good profits.
