Trustworthiness and conscientiousness as managerial virtues
Article Abstract:
Trustworthiness and conscientiousness are two distinctive traits of virtuous managers. Both virtues play a strategic role in enhancing community effectiveness, are inherently human and are common in a life well-lived. However, trustworthiness and conscientiousness also lie between excess and deficiency. Managers with excessive trustworthiness encourage others around them to become irresponsible. There is also social scientific proof that very high or very low levels of conscientiousness are linked to psychiatric disorders in individuals.
