An ordinary parochial school - in the 1920s: a memoir
Article Abstract:
Roman Catholic schools in the 1920s provided sound education to poor children. Children were educated in reading, arithmetic, history, geography, religion, art, music, sex and science. Children then were given daily homeworks and taught to appreciate their country. Catholic schools, however, tend to overemphasize religious obligations, competitiveness and the immoral aspects of sex.
