"How I advanced the Civil Rights Revolution by three seconds."
Article Abstract:
Anyone can make meaningful contributions to the struggle for African-American civil rights. Contributions to the struggle need not be so spectacular or sensational to be meaningful. It can be a political maneuver like the thwarting of the Philadelphia River Authority (PRA) river bond issue project in 1964. The PRA issued $80 million in bonds for a water project in the site where the bodies of three murdered civil rights activists were dumped. The black civil rights movement convinced investment institutions not to participate in the project.
